How critical illness insurance coverage works?
Most common critical illnesses like cancer, stroke and heart attack are covered by almost all insurance companies but the major difference lies in the covered conditions and their definitions. Critical illness insurance policy covers the list of specified conditions mentioned in the contract up to the coverage amount. At any stage after approval, if the insured is diagnosed with one of the covered illnesses specified in the contract, the insurer pays a tax-free lump sum amount after the satisfaction of waiting period (some exceptions apply). This tax-free lump sum money can be spent on any financial need during the medical crisis and the full focus can be shifted on the recovery.
